Federal Procurement Data System (FPDS)

Gov to English translation: The database with all the government’s historical contract spending data

What is FPDS: FPDS is an insanely hard to use system to look up previously awarded contracts, and see key information like:
1) Who won
2) How much they’ve been paid
3) Location and duration information
4) Other

Why you care: If you are interested in a contract you can learn a lot about the competition and customer by looking at historical awards

Don’t use FPDS: FPDS is a miserable system, Use FedScout or USAspending.gov, they are MUCH better and provide all the data in FPDS
