Contractor Performance Assessment Review (CPAR)

Gov to English translation: The grade you get for your contract

What is a CPAR: at the end of each contract the government should review your performance and post the evaluation in the CPAR system.

Areas evaluated: CPARs cover all major performance areas:

  • Technical delivery
  • Cost Control
  • Schedule/timeliness
  • Management
  • Small Business Subcontracting
  • Regulatory Compliance

Evaluations: The “grades” are:

  • Exceptional
  • Very Good
  • Satisfactory
  • Marginal
  • Unsatisfactory

The importance of good CPARs: Frequently RFPs will ask for examples of past performance that the proposer has done, and if the past performance was for the government, what the CPAR evaluations were. Poor evaluations hurt your chances of getting additional work
