Overview

  • Veteran Owned: The Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) set-aside acts just like the Service Disabled Veteran Owned set-aside, except that it is ONLY used by Veterans Affairs
  • Service Disabled Veteran Owned: To qualify for the Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) set-aside the business owners must have a service disability rating of at least 0% from the VA

VOSB and SDVOSB core data

  • SDVOSB spending target: Government agencies have a 3% spending target with SDVOSBs so:
    • 3% of prime award spending should go to SDVOSB
    • 3% of subcontract spending should go to SDVOSB
  • Veteran spending target: There is not federal target for VOSB spending
  • Sole Source Limit: SDVOSB can receive sole-source contracts up to:
    • $7M for manufacturing contracts
    • $3M for other contracts
  • Estimated number of VOSB & SDVOSB:
    • SDVOSB: 28,000 companies
    • VOSB: 86,000 companies
