Scan the Statement of Work (SOW): Section C

Goal: The goal of the first read is to understand:
1) All the products and services that the government wants to buy
2) Which ones you COULD provide
3) Find 80% of what the government wants to buy in 10-20

Where this information should be: Typically, SOW content is in Section C,  and/or in the Background section.
Searching for the information: The government likes to sprinkle requirements across the entire document, so if you don’t find a clear “Statement of Work” or “Performance Work Statement” section consider doing keyword searches for:
1) Section headers related to SOW content
-Statement of Work
-SOW
-Performance Work Statement
-PWS

What to do if you are using SAM: As you find blocks of work that look promising and evaluation criteria we recommend highlighting them so they are easy to find later.  And add notes to help you communicate with teammates

What to do if you are using FedScout: FedScout automatically pulls out and consolidates the SOW content and lets you check work that you can do, so just check the work you do and that’s it, all your colleagues will be able to see what you’ve done.
